Hello, I'm Owen (aka the cheese man!)
A self-confessed foodie and lover of all good food; cheese emerged as my calling over 18 years ago. I entered the 'cheese world' after joining the buying team of a London based speciality food distributor. It was there, at Harvey and Brockless, where I fell in love with great cheese! Through that time I was privileged to work with some of the most talented and inspiring food producers in the UK and around the world.
I've also been fortunate to judge cheeses at the British Cheese Awards; Artisan Cheese Awards; several other cheese competitions; I'm a team leader at the World Cheese Awards AND an associate member of the Academy of Cheese. I returned to the homelands of Wales six years ago, then later set up with Cheese Pantry with Penylan Pantry. That experience gave me such a buzz as I love selling really good cheese directly to my lovely customers.
Now to 2020 and Ty Caws - my own business, supporting British farmers and cheesemakers, offering the best selection of British Cheese to a growing loyal customer base. My aim is simple - Ty Caws will provide the very best of British Cheese to all.
